Vocational Service is one of Rotary's key avenues of service. It emphasizes the importance of promoting high ethical standards in professional life and using one's vocational skills and expertise to benefit society and the community. The focus is on fostering integrity, encouraging professional development, and using the talents of Rotarians to help others. Organising vocational talks and visits is one way of achieving the above objective. The Rotary Club of Pune Sports City organised one such Vocational visit for it's members on the 9th November 2024, to the Serum Institute of India (SIL) The efforts were led primarily by Rotarian Dr Suresh Beri member of RCPSC. He obtained special approval from the top management of SIL for this visit. The whole visit was meticulously planned and his own department had to forgo productive man hours to accommodate this visit, which they will compensate by working over the weekend. Around ~55 people participated in the visit, which was guided by more than 20 SIL officials. SIL is one of the world's largest vaccine manufacturers, known for producing life-saving vaccines at an affordable cost. It plays a critical role in global public health, supplying vaccines for a variety of diseases such as polio, measles, and COVID-19.
