This project was initiated by Rotary Club Pune Sports City at the request of Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) and supported by the CSR grant from Emcure Pharmaceuticals. PMPML are the public transport bus service providers for the city of Pune. Screening and Health checkup camps were implemented by Samarth Yuva Foundation and Dr Dada Gujar Hospital for Mother & Child Care medical teams and organized by Rotary Pune Sports City. The screening camps were held at 6 PMPML depots over 10 days from 14th to 29th October 2024, covering over 450 women employees. The primary need for such projects was to raise awareness about breast and cervical cancer among women and the need to undergo regular screening for early detection and enhance survival rates and reduce the burden and trauma of the dreaded disease for women and their families and friends.
