Roll over from last year . Training for over 5280 teachers over 120 sessions in government and aided school in Pune District, benefitting over 235 municipal and district schools with over 250,000 students annually. Conducted by ICEDC (Indian Career Education and Development Council) with the approval and support of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE). The project focus is to prepare school teachers to become savvy with pedagogic teaching skills sooner and make a positive change to the young students.

Non Rotary Partners Rotary Club of Pune Sports City conducted their Teachers Training Awards Ceremony on 24th July 2021, ubiquitously on Zoom and Facebook. Based entirely on quantitative evaluations and merit, 60 outstanding teachers,principals, schools of excellence and trainers were felicitated with Rotary designed trophies and plaques. This well executed online event was well attended by Rotarians from Australia and India, including inspiring and motivational presentation by Rotary International Director 2021/23, Dr Mahesh Kotbagi, Vice Chancellor of Savitribai Phule Pune University, Prof Nitin Karmalkar and several club and district leaders. This project trained over 5280 teachers over 120 sessions in government and aided school in Pune District, benefitting over 235 municipal and district schools with over 250,000 students annually. This project was conducted by ICEDC (Indian Career Education and Development Council) with the approval and support of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE). Rotary Club of Albert Park inMelbourne was the International Partner and Rotary Clubs of Akurdi and Pune Vibrant East were the local partners. After 5 initial physical training sessions in classrooms in February 2020, due to the Covid-19 lockdown, the same training was shifted to online Zoom sessions held for 2.5 hours for 3 consecutive days. The Trainers were able to teach teachers in multiple locations, with slide presentations, interactive sessions and feedback. Majority of the teachers used their smart phones to attend the training sessions from home. The post training online mentoring, review, assignments and evaluations was conducted on Google Classroom for 3 months. Based on their performance, the teachers were awarded with four levels of dual certification by ICEDC and its partners Australian Council for Computers in Education (ACCE). These difficult times enabled Rotary and its partners, to prepare school teachers to become savvy with pedagogic teaching skills sooner and make a positive change to the young students. This was Rotary Opening Opportunities and making a positive impact in a Covid stricken world
