Meeting Agenda Joint meeting with Rotaract Club of Mitcon and Rotaract Club of D.Y.Patil. Speaker : Vishwatej Pawar, is part of a team of 10 wildlife enthusiasts from Pune city who are interested in lesser known wildlife and have been exploring the city and its outskirts since 2009. His team mates Sagar Kelkar and Karan Thorat are here too. Their field outings are usually done after their daily job/business/college routine or on their weekly offs. They have made collaborations with various local forest departments, village Grampanchayats and nomadic sheep herders in their quest for tracking wildlife across the grasslands around Pune and also for spreading awareness about wildlife and its importance to locals, where it matters the most. Recently they helped scientists from Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun to GPS Radio-collar Indian Wolves in Maharashtra. This 32 minute documentary film, "Treasures of Grasslands" is their first attempt at film-making and they are now in process of making their second wildlife documentary. Very soon they are forming an NGO for wildlife conservation and related activities which will be called "The Grasslands Trust".
